Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his maiden championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour championship, took control to force a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
